A Year Ago

So much has happened in the last year. I was just looking through the adoption journal that I kept for Kellie. This week last year was very exciting for us. On May 9th we received THE CALL from Missy telling us there was a 3-month old baby girl in the Kemerovo region available for adoption and that she would be sending us information on her soon. On May 19th we received her medical information and on May 23rd we got an email with pictures. A few days later we sent in our referral acceptance. It is hard to believe that we found out about Kellie over a year ago. We looked at her picture everyday for eight months before getting her. The happy part is that even though we have only had her home with us for four months, she has been in our hearts since we saw her picture a year ago. The sad thing is that it took sooo long for us to get through all of the "red tape" and actually get her home. I guess its kind of like pregnancy. You wait, wait, wait, for about 9 months, getting more anxious by the day. Then when you finally hold her for the first time, it was all worth it--and meant to be. We are so blessed with three wonderful children.
