A Big Weekend

We all had a big weekend. Pop and Uncle Chris took Alex, Blake, and Sean up to the mountains of Tennessee. They saw lots of fun things and did a lot of "boy" shopping. All of the boys came home with air riffles and Alex even had a switchblade knife. We'll have to keep that put away. I think Uncle Chris was having fun driving in all of the curves and going up and down all of the hills in the mountains on the way home UNTIL Blake got car sick--all in the back of Uncle Chris' new (almost) truck. And not just once, but apparantly about six times! They had to stop at a Wal-Mart and get Blake a new pair of shoes and let him change clothes. It was really bad. SORRY UNCLE CHRIS!!!

On the flip side, Jim, Kellie, and I went to the beach. We had the house rented each weekend in September but this one, so we decided to take advantage of the beach house. We had several pictures framed that Mema had painted that we took down there and hung up in the house. We also took a lot of our old paperbacks down there and bought a bookshelf to put in the family room. Now our guests will have something to read if they forgot to bring a book. It looks nice. I took some new pictures to put on the website, so you can look at it and see some of the new things. We are looking forward to our visit down there next month to celebrate Mema and Pop's 40th wedding anniversary. We are also having a big family birthday celebration for Alex, Pop, Blake, and Mema. They all have September and October birthdays.

Saturday night while at the beach Kellie took a few steps by herself. We were in the family room and she walked from where Jim was sitting on the sofa to where I was sitting next to the loveseat all by herself. Then on Sunday she was walking along the wall, just creeping along next to it with both hands on it like she was being frisked. She also started climbing up the stairs. She was on the fourth step before we took her down. It won't be long now before she takes off running after her brothers.
