Kellie's 2 Year Check-up

On Thursday afternoon we had Kellie's two year check-up. She now weighs 29 pounds and is 35 inches long (wow, almost 3 ft. long). Her weight and height are right where she needs to be and her doctor thinks she is going to be a tall girl. He also said she is doing great---actually much better than he had expected. She has come so far in one year. Her heart sounds fine and since she is growing so well and her heart test results last year had no problems he doesn't see any need in her going back to the pediatric cardiologist for a check-up.
He is sending her to an E.N.T. just to make sure all of her colds/sinus infections are not the result of a sinus/nose problem. We think they are just from being in daycare. She has been constantly sick since last August when she started daycare. I was told by him several months ago to give it six months and she should build up a resistance to the germs. It is just now six months and we are just really tired of Kellie always being sick with a runny nasty nose and/or cough. We hate it when she feels bad. She really enjoys playing with her friends and learning things at her "school". I hope she soon gets her resistance up. I really don't want to take her out of daycare. I think being around all of the other kids her age has helped her learn what she should be doing.
Kellie is officially off of the bottle. We took things really slow with her since we were basically making up for a lost year with her. Plus we wanted to make sure she got the nutrients she needed to grow well this first year. It worked--she has grown so much!
Now for the sleeping problem--OUR lack of!! Kellie usually sleeps well. She goes to bed around eight and usually sleeps through the night. The only problem is that she wakes up usually between 5am-5:30am, but sometimes as early as 4:30am (wide awake-ready to play). I don't think she has ever slept until 7am. We are sleeping in late if Kellie sleeps until 6am. We've tried keeping her up later and also putting her to bed earlier. She still gets up early. The doctor said that we could try Benedryl, but since it wears off after a few hours we may still have the same problem. If anyone has any other suggestions--other than introducing her to J.D. or J.W.--we'll be happy to try them.
Kellie likes her pediatrician, but has mixed feelings about Nurse Claudia. Kellie was all smiles and was talking to her when she first came into the exam room yesterday. Then she gave Kellie a shot in each leg. Kellie gave her the most evil look and then screamed bloody murder for the whole office to hear.
